PATRICK NICHOLSON
Patrick Nicholson is the founder of Big Rig Nation, one of the fastest-growing independent media platforms focused on the trucking industry.
With more than 27 years in trucking, Patrick started his career as an OTR driver, spending 15 years behind the wheel before moving into logistics, recruiting, and operations roles within major transportation companies. That experience gave him a rare inside view of how trucking actually works — from the driver's seat to the business side of the industry.
After years of watching drivers struggle with confusing contracts, misleading pay structures, and a lack of transparency, Patrick launched Big Rig Nation to give drivers access to the information they were never shown before.
Today Big Rig Nation reports on industry issues, analyzes contracts and pay structures, and gives drivers a platform to share what is really happening inside trucking companies. Through video reporting, industry commentary, and direct engagement with drivers across the country, Patrick has helped build a community dedicated to transparency, education, and accountability in trucking.
RITA NICHOLSON
Rita Nicholson serves as Director of Big Rig Nation and plays a key role in connecting drivers, companies, and industry voices across the platform.
Originally from Lithuania, Rita brings an international perspective to the trucking industry and understands the challenges drivers face when navigating complex systems and regulations across different markets. Her background in leadership and team management — overseeing large teams and operational departments — has helped Big Rig Nation grow into a global driver community.
Through her work with Big Rig Nation, Rita focuses on driver outreach, communication, and building relationships across the trucking industry. She helps ensure that drivers from all backgrounds have access to clear information, real opportunities, and a community that supports them.
Together, Patrick and Rita work to build a platform where drivers can learn, connect, and understand the business side of trucking in ways that were never available before.
